Your screenshots stay yours

This policy explains what ScreenVerb processes and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Information we process

When you sign in, we receive account details such as your name, email address, and account identifier from Apple or Google, or the name, email address, and password you register with. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. We use these details to create your account, keep you signed in, and connect your purchases to ScreenVerb features.

If you choose to add screenshots to your cloud library, we store the images, filenames, dimensions, tags, and related search information such as generated labels, captions, and text recognized in the image. Screenshots remain on your device unless you use a cloud feature or an AI action that needs server processing.

We record account activity needed to provide the service, including AI model, request type, usage amount, and time. We also receive basic technical information such as app version, device or session identifiers, IP address, and error or performance details.

AI features

When you request an AI action, the screenshot or text needed for that action is sent through ScreenVerb to the selected AI model provider to generate a result. Cloud screenshot analysis for search can be switched off in Settings. AI providers process requests under their own terms and privacy policies.

Connected AI assistants (MCP)

You can connect AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT to your cloud library through the ScreenVerb MCP server. When you connect one, you choose whether it can read your screenshots, update them, or both. Depending on what you approve, the assistant can list and search your cloud screenshots and receive their filenames, dimensions, tags, recognized text, captions, a resized copy of a screenshot's image when it opens one, and private image links that expire within 2 hours, and it can rename screenshots or remove them from your library.

Information an assistant receives is handled by its provider under that provider's privacy policy. ScreenVerb does not receive your conversations with the assistant. We keep a record of each connection, including the client name, granted permissions, connection time, and access tokens stored only as secure hashes, so you can review and revoke access. Access tokens expire after one hour and refresh tokens expire after 90 days without use. You can disconnect an assistant at any time from the MCP page in your dashboard, which revokes its access immediately. Connection records are deleted when you delete your account.

Cloud sharing

A screenshot share link can be opened by anyone who has the link. Only share a screenshot when you are comfortable with that access. You can delete cloud screenshots from your library.

Analytics and service providers

We use service providers to host ScreenVerb, store cloud screenshots, process sign-in, deliver AI features, measure product use, and handle purchases. These providers process information for those purposes under their own privacy terms. Hetzner hosts the API and database, Cloudflare hosts the website and stores cloud files, Amazon Web Services sends account emails, and OpenRouter routes AI requests to the selected model provider. iOS analytics and diagnostics use PostHog; the website uses PostHog and OpenPanel. Optional in-app analytics and diagnostics can be turned off in Settings.

App Store purchases are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. Web and Mac purchases are processed by Polar. We receive purchase and entitlement information and link it to your ScreenVerb account to provide access; we do not receive your full payment card number.

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Retention and account deletion

We keep account information and cloud content while your account is active. In the iOS app, open Settings and choose Delete account to permanently remove your account, cloud screenshots, and related account data. Some transaction records may remain with Apple, RevenueCat, or Polar under their own policies. Deleting a ScreenVerb account does not cancel an App Store subscription; manage or cancel it in Apple Account settings.

We may keep limited records for security, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal obligations for as long as needed for those purposes.

Children and policy updates

ScreenVerb is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when the service or applicable requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page with its effective date.
